How to estimate concrete accurately
Concrete is measured in cubic volume (cubic yards or cubic feet), not square footage. To get an accurate estimate, you must know the exact length, width, and thickness (depth) of your pour.
Our calculator automatically handles the complex conversions from inches (depth) and feet (length/width) into cubic yards, and then divides that total volume by the exact yield of standard bag sizes (50lb, 60lb, or 80lb).
Don't forget the waste factor
Ground is rarely perfectly level, forms bow outward under pressure, and spills happen. Industry standard dictates adding a 10% waste margin to any concrete order to ensure you don't run out during a pour. Our calculator includes this automatically.
